ZedaSoft® Completes Head-Up Display Upgrade to the FAA Advanced General Aviation Research Simulator
(Fort Worth, Texas – October 20, 2011) ZedaSoft, Inc., a simulation and visualization software and hardware company announces the completion of its contract to upgrade the FAA Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) Advanced General Aviation Research Simulator (AGARS) Head-Up Display (HUD).
The upgrade integrated an existing Kaiser/Rockwell HUD unit with the AGARS simulator. A new subsystem was developed for the AGARS simulator to format and send aircraft data to the HUD. Individual control was provided for each of the HUD display elements to allow disabling their display on the HUD. Additionally, the capability to provide a synthetic outline for a selected runway was provided
As a part of this upgrade, three channels of MetaVR, Inc. out-the-window visual scene system were installed on three 60 inch HD LCD displays surrounding the cockpit. The out-the-window system was calibrated with the HUD display to provide conformity between out-the-window features and HUD display elements.
