ZedaSoft® Awarded FAA Contract to Deliver a Fully Functional HMD Integrated with the Advanced General Aviation Research Simulator (AGARS)
(Fort Worth, Texas – September 27, 2013) ZedaSoft, Inc., a simulation and visualization software company announces the award of an FAA contract to deliver fully functional Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) software integrated with their Advanced General Aviation Research Simulator (AGARS) and Vertical General Aviation Research Simulator (VGARS).
ZedaSoft is using its CBA® for Simulation software to drive the HMD symbology for the fixed and rotary wing platforms. The system will allow the FAA to assemble custom displays from a wide variety of components, including data fields and scales, wireframe and textured terrain databases, ground-based feature markers, and highway-in-the-sky guidance. A plug-in infrastructure allows addition of future graphics capabilities with minimal effort. Pluggable data adapters allow the system to be used with all FAA research simulators.
The HMD software will be integrated with an InterSense IS-900 6DOF head-tracker and initially shown through an existing Kaiser HMD device, with additional manufacturer devices to be tested in the future.
ZedaSoft has integrated similar HMD symbology into the F-16 simulator for the USAF Test Pilot School as well as in the F-22 concept demonstrator for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. The CBA® for Simulation framework has found great acceptance in avionics laboratory and business development communities. ZedaSoft has been a successful contractor to the FAA for over a decade.
ZedaSoft develops innovative products for the simulation and visualization industry. Its customers include Lockheed Martin, Boeing, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration, and other defense, Government and commercial organizations. ZedaSoft’s main goal is to strike the balance between realistic simulation and cost-effective deployed solutions utilizing modern simulation architecture. For additional information contact:
